Propwash Junction, the cornfield airstrip (2013)

Dusty, a crop duster, spends his free time practicing aerobatics and dreaming of racing. His boss Leadbottom and his friend Dottie scorn the idea, but his fuel-truck friend Chug trains him for the qualifiers.

Set in Propwash Junction, Minnesota — The fictional Minnesota farm town where Dusty dusts crops and practices racing moves in his spare time.

The race starts in New York (2013)

Dusty arrives for the race and meets the other racers, including the champion Ripslinger, who dismisses him. He also meets Ishani, who becomes supportive.

Leg two: Germany and the rescue in the sky (2013)

Over Germany, the legendary racer Bulldog is flying blind. Dusty pulls up beside him and talks him through the landing, earning his respect even though he finishes last again.

Leg three: Agra and the Taj Mahal (2013)

Ishani invites Dusty to fly around the Taj Mahal and advises him to fly low through the Himalayas by following the railroad tracks. Dusty, who fears heights, is happy to hear it.

Leg four: through the tunnel to Nepal (2013)

Dusty follows the railroad tracks, flies through a tunnel and comes out in first place.

Leg five: over the Hump to Shanghai (2013)

Dusty crosses the Hump, the mountains between northeast India and south China, and takes first place again. In Shanghai he also helps his friend El Chupacabra win over Rochelle with a romantic song.

Leg six: lost over the Pacific (2013)

Lost over the Pacific with no antenna and almost no fuel, Dusty finds a Navy carrier. A pilot asks him to follow them to the boat, and he lands there for emergency fuel. A thunderstorm then forces him to leave, and he crashes into the sea.

Salvaged and repaired in Mexico (2013)

Dusty is salvaged and transported to Mexico, where his friends are waiting. He considers dropping out of the race, but the other racers donate parts to repair him.
