Buying the old sawmill (1932)

Smoke and Stack buy an old sawmill, equipment and land from Hogwood, who hints they are not serious buyers. Smoke warns that anyone crossing the property line will be dealt with.

How to get there: The set is gone. Only the village of Braithwaite (Plaquemines Parish) can be visited; the coordinates are the village, not the site.

The Clarksdale train station (1932)

According to location guides, this is where the twins recruit Delta Slim and where Stack meets Mary again.

How to get there: Bogalusa station (400 Austin St., built 1907) is in the city of Bogalusa. Wikipedia says it was used as part of the film set; coordinates are Wikipedia's. Sources differ on whether the building itself appears or the Clarksdale depot was recreated with CGI.

Downtown Clarksdale and the Chows' store (1932)

The twins split up in town to gather supplies for opening night. Smoke visits the Chows' grocery to order food for a hundred people.

Filmed at Railroad Avenue, Donaldsonville, Louisiana — Railroad Avenue was dressed as a 1930s street and stood in for Clarksdale. The Chows' store was a vacant antiques shop with a rebuilt exterior; the Black Bird Cafe was a former diner. Google Maps · Apple Maps

How to get there: The businesses were built from historical archives and cannot be visited; the street itself is in downtown Donaldsonville.

Annie's house (1932)

Smoke visits Annie to ask her to cook at the juke joint. They argue about the price of his money.

Opening night at the juke joint (1932)

Crowds arrive, Cornbread guards the door, Sammie and Pearline flirt, and Mary and Stack reunite. Music begins to pull something supernatural to the building.
